Today, you can have surgery on your gallbladder, knee, or wrist and be back at home within hours, without ever having checked into a hospital. Fifty years ago, you could expect to be in the hospital for days after delivering a baby. Now, you may be able to go home the same day. Crazy, isn’t it?
